Hippo Insurance, Singing Our Way Through Tennessee

Hippo is now live, and rocking, in Tennessee!

Tennessee is well-known for its musical roots (from Elvis Presley to Taylor Swift). I’ve always loved visiting Nashville and over the last couple of years, I’ve seen the city double down on both music and real estate.

With more than 6.7 million residents, Tennessee has one of the fastest-growing state populations. More than 435,000 people have moved there within the past 10 years. With its rolling hills, steep mountains, flat horse pastures and major urban areas, the state also has a unique landscape. While there are perks to settling down in the Volunteer State, homeowners face a wide range of potential issues.

As we were preparing to launch our home insurance policies in Tennessee, we looked closely at the claims that were filed and the issues most often faced by homeowners. While new high-rise condo towers were popping up in Nashville, those in Knoxville had been renovated and expanded in a whole new way. But we quickly discovered that all homeowners in the state have something in common: They love indoor and outdoor spaces and value their communities.

Some of the most common causes of claims in the state include water damage, damaged appliances and service line breaks. So in our policies, we increased coverage for all of these issues. And our coverage for electronics is four times higher than it is in policies provided by other carriers in the state.

We tailored our coverage to meet the needs of the state’s residents. Hearing that from an insurance company may surprise you. Ultimately, our goal is to keep our clients out of harm’s way, help them avoid claims (before they have to do major repairs) and cover the items they need to replace.

For Tennessee residents, this means we developed a home insurance policy that provides increased coverage at a basic level and saves locals up to 25% on their insurance premiums. We also made sure our policies can easily be tailored to cover specific items (like your collection of guitars or gold-plated belt buckles). Everyone can get the peace of mind they deserve … for that long horseback ride into the sunset or a night out on the town.
